Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure and supply Oxygen Gauges to Othobothini Community Health Centre (CHC). The procurement aims to ensure the availability of reliable oxygen pressure monitoring equipment that meets specified standards and specifications, supporting safe and effective medical oxygen administration.

Scope

The scope of the tender includes:

• Supply and delivery of oxygen gauges as specified in the technical and detailed specifications.
• Provision of related accessories and optional accessories as listed in the schedule.
• Installation, testing, calibration, demonstration, and commissioning of the equipment at the designated hospital site.
• Providing training to hospital staff and technical support during the warranty and maintenance periods.
• Adherence to all technical, safety, and regulatory standards specified in the tender documentation.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements for the oxygen gauge include:

• Compliance with H.T.S specification A44 (Anaesthetics) and relevant standards such as SABS/SANS.
• Unit must be new, CE Certified, and suitable for oxygen service.
• The gauge must be capable of measuring pressure accurately within the specified range, with markings for high and low-pressure readings.
• Materials of construction must be corrosion-resistant, non-combustible, and suitable for medical gas applications.
• Fittings and connections must meet international standards, with appropriate inlet and outlet connections for medical gases.
• Pressure gauges must be calibrated and marked clearly with relevant pressure units (kPa or L/min).
• Regulators and gauges must be service exchangeable and capable of withstanding storage and operational conditions specified.
• Equipment must include necessary filters, safety valves, and be free from burrs and paint finishes.
• All equipment must meet IEC 60601-1 and 60601-1-2 standards for electrical safety where applicable.

Skills Requirements

The skills and qualifications required from bidders include:

• Proven experience in supplying and servicing medical gas equipment, specifically oxygen gauges and regulators.
• Technical expertise in calibration, maintenance, and repair of medical gas regulators and gauges.
• Qualified technicians trained and certified by original equipment manufacturers (OEM) to handle the specific models offered.
• Capability to provide comprehensive training to hospital staff on equipment operation, calibration, and maintenance.
• Established service and repair facilities within KwaZulu-Natal, with qualified personnel available within 24 hours for servicing and repairs.
• Ability to supply spare parts, accessories, and upgrades for at least ten years from the date of supply.
• Compliance with all regulatory, safety, and quality standards, including submission of relevant certifications and licenses.
