Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure services for the renovation of the Parkhome Residence at NHLS Willowvale, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, tiling, flooring, and related works. The project aims to upgrade and refurbish the specified residential units to meet operational and safety standards, ensuring minimal disruption to hospital activities.

Scope

The scope of work encompasses:

• Renovations to residential Parkhome units, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and finishing works.
• Installation of new fixtures, fittings, and appliances such as sinks, toilets, geysers, and electrical components.
• Structural modifications including repositioning and transport of units, foundation work, and external works.
• Interior finishes including painting, tiling, flooring, ceiling installation, and joinery.
• External works such as access, staircases, and site preparation.
• Compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards throughout the project.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Adherence to NHLS specifications and standards, including SABS and ISO standards.
• Use of approved materials, fixtures, and fittings, all compliant with SABS standards.
• Proper installation of electrical wiring, plumbing, and mechanical systems, with certification upon completion.
• Implementation of safety measures, including signage, scaffolding, and site management, in accordance with OHS Act and NHLS policies.
• Completion of work within specified timeframes, with quality control and inspection at each phase.
• Provision of guarantees, warranties, and maintenance for a period of 12 months post-completion.

Skills and Skills Requirements

The tenderer must demonstrate:

• CIDB registration with a grading of 1GB or higher.
• Relevant experience in residential renovations, preferably in healthcare or similar sensitive environments.
• Qualified personnel including licensed plumbers, electricians, carpenters, and painters.
• Capability to manage complex projects involving transport, structural modifications, and external site works.
• Proven track record of delivering projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
• Compliance with health and safety regulations, including a valid COIDA certificate and safety plans.
• Ability to provide references and completion certificates for similar projects undertaken within the last five years.
