Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure 07 units of patient monitors for Prince Mshiyeni Memorial Hospital, ensuring the equipment meets specified technical standards, quality, and safety requirements. The procurement aims to enhance patient monitoring capabilities across adult, paediatric, and neonatal care settings, with an emphasis on modern, reliable, and upgradeable technology that complies with national and international standards.

Scope

The scope includes the supply, delivery, installation, commissioning, and training for the specified patient monitors. It covers all technical, safety, and quality standards as detailed in the specifications, including accessories, optional features, and maintenance support. The procurement is for a once-off purchase with provisions for optional accessories and future upgrades, and it must adhere to the relevant procurement policies and standards outlined in the tender documents.

Technical Requirements

• The monitors must be multiparameter, suitable for adult, paediatric, and neonatal use, operable in operating theatres and ICU.
• Display: High-resolution colour display, minimum 21cm diagonal, visible from 3 metres.
• Parameters: ECG (with cascade facility), heart rate, NIBP, SpO2, temperature; upgradeable to include at least 2 IBPs.
• Power: Operate off 220V ±10%, 50Hz AC supply, with internal rechargeable battery providing at least 1 hour backup.
• Battery: Rechargeable, with specified capacity, automatic switch-over, and visible power indication.
• Controls: Splashproof front panel switches, user-friendly menu system, carry handle, optional mounting brackets.
• Connectivity: Networkable at no extra cost, with optional wall mounting and strip chart recorder.
• Standards: Comply with IEC 60601-1 and 60601-1-2, and SANAS/ISO standards.
• Accessories: Reusable, latex-free cuffs (adult, paediatric, neonate), reusable sensors, optional wall brackets, and other accessories with prices included.
• Guarantee: Minimum 24 months, with guaranteed uptime of at least 99%, including service and maintenance during and after warranty period.
• Documentation: Complete user manuals, service manuals, calibration software, and training support.

Skills Requirements

• Bidder must have a well-established service and repair facility in KwaZulu-Natal.
• Technicians must be manufacturer-trained, with proof of certification, and available within 24 hours for maintenance and repairs.
• Bidder must provide full training to hospital technicians on calibration, maintenance, and repair, including PCB-level servicing, with certification of competency.
• Provision of demonstration units for evaluation and acceptance testing by hospital staff and technical experts.
• Ability to supply spare parts and accessories for at least 10 years, with a commitment to ongoing technical support and updates.
• Compliance with all safety, electrical, and electromagnetic interference standards, including IEC 60601-1 and SANAS accreditation.
