Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure pediatric pulse oximeters that meet specified standards for patient care, ensuring accurate, reliable, and child-specific monitoring devices. The procurement aims to enhance the quality of pediatric healthcare services at St. Mary's District Hospital by acquiring suitable, compliant pulse oximeters.

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply of pediatric pulse oximeters in the required quantity (as per specifications), adhering to the detailed technical and quality standards. The procurement process includes submission of samples, compliance with specifications, and delivery to the designated hospital address. The contract is a once-off purchase with a validity period of 90 days, and the selected supplier must meet all technical, legal, and policy requirements outlined in the tender documents.

Technical Requirements

• The device must be specifically designed for children and babies.
• The reading must be accurate, fast, and reliable.
• The device should be portable with a high-definition display.
• Supplied units must conform to SABS or SANS standards.
• Each unit should be supplied with a clear brochure, preferably in color, detailing specifications.
• Samples must be provided upon request for evaluation and testing.
• The device must be new, unused, and incorporate recent design and material improvements.

Skills and Capacity Requirements

• The bidder must demonstrate the capacity to supply the specified pediatric pulse oximeters, including previous experience and proven delivery capability.
• Bidder must provide a detailed brochure and relevant documentation to verify compliance with technical specifications.
• The bidder should be registered on the Central Suppliers Database (CSD) and provide valid registration documents.
• Bidder must disclose any relationships with personnel employed by the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Health to ensure transparency.
• Bidder must be able to supply samples for objective evaluation, with the ability to meet quality standards and specifications.
• The supplier should have the capacity to deliver within the specified delivery period and provide after-sales support if required.
