Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure and deliver SABS approved Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Health, specifically for use by workplace staff to ensure safety during maintenance and operational duties. The procurement aims to ensure high-quality PPE that meets safety standards and complies with relevant specifications.

Scope

The scope includes the supply and delivery of various PPE items such as ear plugs, earmuffs, gloves, masks, and other protective clothing as detailed in the specification schedule. The procurement covers the provision of PPE in specified quantities, conforming to SABS standards, and includes all related logistics such as collection, delivery, and documentation within the defined contract period.

Technical Requirements

• All PPE items must be of high quality and SABS approved.
• Items must meet detailed specifications including size, material, and compliance with safety standards.
• Items must be suitable for industrial and occupational safety use, including reusable and disposable options.
• Samples may be required for evaluation to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Items must be delivered in packaging that prevents damage during transit and storage.
• Delivery must be made to the specified address: 310 Jabu Ndlovu Street, Pietermaritzburg.
• All items must be supplied within the contract period and in accordance with the specifications attached.

Skills and Competency Requirements

• Proven experience in supplying PPE or similar safety equipment to government or large organizations.
• Ability to meet technical specifications and standards as specified in the tender documentation.
• Capacity to manage logistics, including collection, storage, and timely delivery of PPE items.
