Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure pest control services for Othobothini Community Health Centre (CHC) and associated clinics. The services aim to eliminate and prevent pest infestations, including insects such as cockroaches, flies, ants, and vermin, as well as rodents like mice and rats. The contractor is also expected to maintain rodent bait stations and provide monthly reports confirming service delivery. Additionally, the service includes fumigation, spraying, and the use of approved chemicals to ensure a pest-free environment, particularly in healthcare settings.

Scope

The scope encompasses:

• Provision of pest control services on a monthly basis for Othobothini CHC and five attached clinics: Jozini Clinic, Makhathini Clinic, Ophondweni Clinic, Nondabuy a Clinic, and Gwalweni Clinic.
• Eradication and control of pests through fumigation, spraying, bait stations, and other approved methods.
• Maintenance of rodent bait stations at the CHC and clinics.
• Preparation of monthly service reports and certification, including details of chemicals used, which must be SABS approved.
• Guarantee of ongoing monthly service with re-treatment if pests are reported between scheduled visits.
• Adherence to health and safety regulations, proper identification of workmen, and clean-up after service.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Provision of pest control services using approved chemicals compliant with health and safety standards.
• Monthly fumigation and spraying of specified areas including wards, offices, kitchens, and other relevant rooms.
• Use of approved pest control methods for insects and vermin, including bait stations and eradication fumigation.
• Production of official reports/certificates after each service, detailing chemicals used and service performed.
• Guarantee of service continuity and re-treatment if pests are reported before scheduled visits.
• Compliance with health, safety, and departmental regulations, including proper identification of personnel.
• Carrying out chemical mixing on-site and ensuring a clean work environment.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must demonstrate:

• Proven experience in pest control services, supported by at least two valid completion certificates of similar work.
• Valid letter of good standing with the Department of Agriculture or relevant pest control authority, including a valid pest control certificate and P-number.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations pertinent to pest control in healthcare environments.
• Ability to produce accurate reports and certificates of service.
• Qualified personnel trained in pest control procedures, chemical handling, and safety compliance.
• Capacity to maintain ongoing service schedules and respond promptly to pest reports.
