Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure 31 pharmacists' white coats that meet specified standards for quality, safety, and functionality, ensuring staff are equipped with hygienic and protective uniforms compliant with relevant standards.

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply of unisex white lab coats for pharmacists at King Dinuzulu Hospital, including sourcing, certification, and delivery of the specified number of coats (31 units) in various sizes, adhering to detailed technical specifications and standards.

Technical Requirements

• Fabric: Poly-cotton blend (65% polyester / 35% cotton) with a weight of 160-235 GSM.
• Design: Unisex, knee-length (90-100cm), with back pleats or vents for ease of movement.
• Closure: Melamine buttons.
• Sleeves: Long sleeves for maximum barrier protection.
• Pockets: Three utility pockets (one chest patch with pen slot, two lower front patches).
• Finishes: Antimicrobial treatments and fluid-repellent coatings.
• Anti-Static: Conductive carbon threads integrated into fabric.
• Standards: Must comply with EN ISO 13688 / SANS 13688, SANS 434 (if locally sourced), and be SABS certified.
• Sizes: 15 units of size 34, 4 of size 36, 6 of size 38, and 6 of size 40.
• Sample: Required for evaluation.

Skills Requirements

Suppliers must demonstrate:

• Capability to produce and supply lab coats that meet international and national standards.
• Experience in manufacturing or sourcing medical protective clothing with antimicrobial and anti-static properties.
• Ability to provide certified documentation, including B-BBEE certificates, CSD registration, and product certification (SABS).
• Compliance with procurement policies, including submission of samples, technical specifications, and proper documentation.
