Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure physiotherapy consumables and items required for the Department of Health at Eshowe Hospital, KwaZulu-Natal. The aim is to ensure the availability of quality physiotherapy products that meet specified standards to support patient rehabilitation, muscle and ligament support, pain relief, and related therapeutic needs.

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply and delivery of various physiotherapy items including kinesiology tapes, resistance bands, strapping tapes, tubigrip, dumbbells, wrist weights, massage oils, compression stockings, and stump/compression bandages. The procurement covers both standard consumables and specialized equipment, with specifications detailed in annexures. Delivery must be within three weeks of order, and items are to conform to specified standards such as SABS & SAHPRA approval.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Items must meet the detailed specifications provided in annexures, including size, material, color, and compliance with standards.
• Samples may be requested in writing for certain items, and products must be new, unused, and conform to the latest models and design improvements.
• Items must be approved by relevant authorities (e.g., SABS & SAHPRA).
• Delivery within three weeks from order date is mandatory.
• All products must be supplied with appropriate documentation, packaging, and labeling as per specifications.
• Suppliers must provide proof of compliance with standards and approvals.

Skills Requirements

The skills and capabilities required from bidders include:

• Ability to supply physiotherapy consumables that meet detailed technical specifications and standards.
• Experience in delivering medical and physiotherapy supplies within stipulated timeframes.
• Knowledge of procurement procedures, including submission of official forms, compliance with VAT and tax regulations, and adherence to departmental policies.
• Capability to provide samples and documentation for quality assurance and compliance verification.
• Understanding of the procurement evaluation process, including compliance, capacity to deliver, and sample submission.
