Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure plaster cast walking heels, specifically designed for paediatric and adult use, to facilitate weight bearing and fracture union at Grey's Hospital under the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Health.

Scope

The scope includes the supply of:

• Plaster cast walking heels small (paediatric), rubber material, size L = 14mm, slip-proof, W = 35mm, H = 30mm
• Plaster cast walking heels large (adult), rubber material, size L = 190mm, W = 65mm, H = 30mm

The procurement covers the supply of these items in specified quantities, conforming to the detailed specifications and quality standards outlined in the tender documents.

Technical Requirements

• Items must be made of rubber material with slip-proof features.
• Small (paediatric) heels: Length = 14mm, Width = 35mm, Height = 30mm.
• Large (adult) heels: Length = 190mm, Width = 65mm, Height = 30mm.
• Heels must be compliant with the attached specifications, including size, material, and quality standards.
• Items should be supplied in units of each, with samples provided upon request.
• All products must meet the relevant quality standards and be new, unused, and current models.

Skills Requirements

• Bidder must demonstrate compliance with technical specifications and quality standards.
• Bidder should have experience in manufacturing or supplying medical orthopaedic components, specifically plaster cast accessories.
• Ability to provide samples and documentation such as BBBEE status, CSD compliance, and relevant certificates.
• Capacity to deliver within the specified contract period and adhere to quality and safety standards.
• Proficiency in completing and submitting all mandatory documentation, including preference points claim forms and declaration of interest forms.
