Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure plumbing materials for St Andrews Hospital under the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Health. The procurement aims to ensure the supply of quality plumbing goods that meet specified standards and technical requirements, supporting hospital infrastructure and service delivery.

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply and delivery of a comprehensive list of plumbing materials as detailed in the attached specifications and continuation sheets. The materials include pipes, fittings, valves, fixtures, and related accessories required for hospital plumbing systems. The procurement covers multiple categories of plumbing items, with a once-off contract period, and includes all necessary documentation, compliance, and quality assurance measures.

Technical Requirements

• Conformance to specifications attached in the tender documentation and annexures.
• Supply of new, unused, and current models of plumbing materials with recent design improvements.
• Compliance with relevant standards such as SANS/SABS specifications.
• Provision of ownership certificates issued by the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC), BBBEE certificates, and Sworn Affidavits.
• Certification of identity copies of directors and verification of disability status where applicable.
• Delivery in accordance with specified timeframes and delivery conditions.
• Inclusion of VAT where applicable and adherence to pricing and packaging requirements.
• Provision of warranty for a period of 12 months from delivery or 18 months from shipment, covering defects arising from design, materials, or workmanship.
• Submission of samples if required, and participation in site inspections or briefings as stipulated.

Skills and Qualification Requirements

• Bidder must demonstrate compliance with ownership and BBBEE requirements, supported by valid certificates and documentation.
• Provision of certified identity copies of directors and relevant verification documents.
• Ability to supply the specified range of plumbing materials as per technical specifications and quality standards.
• Experience in handling government tenders and adherence to procurement procedures.
• Capacity to deliver within the stipulated contract period, including logistics and supply chain management skills.
• Knowledge of relevant standards, regulations, and compliance requirements related to plumbing materials and government procurement.
• Ability to provide technical support, warranty services, and after-sales assistance as required.
