Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure plumbing materials for Addington Hospital, ensuring the supply of quality, compliant, and approved products as specified in the attached list. The process aims to select suitable suppliers through a transparent and competitive procurement system that adheres to the Department of Health’s policies and regulations.

Scope

The scope of the tender encompasses the supply of various plumbing materials including toilet fixtures, basin fixtures, pipes, fittings, clamps, valves, and related accessories as detailed in the plumbing materials list (ZNQ ADD 26-27). The procurement is for a once-off delivery to Addington Hospital, covering all items specified in the attached list, with the total quantity and specifications outlined therein.

Technical Requirements

• Items must conform to SABS or SANS standards and be approved for medical and sanitary use.
• All products supplied must be new, unused, and of the most recent models with all recent design and material improvements.
• Samples must be made available upon request for evaluation and approval by the end-user.
• Items must be durable, of acceptable quality, and suitable for hospital use.
• Suppliers must provide proof of compliance, including sworn affidavits, SARS PIN, CSD full report, and samples if requested.
• Pricing must include VAT where applicable, and total prices must be inclusive of all costs.
• Delivery must be made within the specified period, with all items properly packed to prevent damage during transit.

Skills and Competency Requirements

• Proven experience in supplying plumbing materials to healthcare or similar institutions.
• Ability to provide certified proof of product standards and approvals (SABS/SANS).
• Capacity to supply the full list of items as specified, with a track record of timely delivery and quality assurance.
• Compliance with all legal, regulatory, and procurement policies, including tax compliance and BBBEE requirements.
• Capability to provide samples for evaluation and meet technical specifications.
• Effective communication skills for inquiries and coordination with the hospital’s procurement and technical teams.
