Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure portering services at GJ Crookes Hospital to facilitate patient movement, handling of deceased bodies, transportation of equipment and documents, and support hospital operations efficiently and safely.

Scope

The scope includes providing portering services over a contract period of four months, covering various hospital departments and wards, including patient transfer, file and mail delivery, mortuary services, and auxiliary tasks such as cleaning and kitchen duties. The services are required daily, including day and night shifts, with specified staffing levels and operational requirements.

Technical Requirements

• Provision of porters for patient transfer, mortuary duties, and equipment movement.
• Adherence to specified working hours: day shifts (06:00-18:00) and night shifts (18:00-06:00).
• Minimum physical fitness to handle heavy loads and operate electric vehicles if necessary.
• Ability to follow instructions, act calmly in emergencies, and maintain patient confidentiality.
• Provision of safety equipment, uniforms, and radios for effective communication.
• Compliance with health and safety regulations, including vaccination and insurance requirements.
• Appointing a team leader for staff supervision and attendance monitoring.
