Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure security services at 6 Erasmus Street, Postmasburg, for a period of 2 months on a month-to-month basis. The services include providing security officers for day and night shifts, ensuring the safeguarding of state assets, controlling access, patrolling premises, and responding to incidents as required.

Scope

The scope encompasses the provision of security services at the specified location for a duration of two months, with the possibility of extension or insourcing. It includes staffing of security officers for day and night shifts, relievers, and ensuring compliance with all relevant security standards and regulations. The services also involve maintaining proper documentation such as occurrence books, access control registers, and incident reports, as well as adhering to the contractual and statutory requirements outlined in the tender documents.

Technical Requirements

• Provision of trained security officers with valid PSIRA registration, minimum Grade 10 qualification, and relevant experience.
• Security officers must be physically healthy, neatly dressed, and present a professional image.
• Officers must perform access control, patrols, incident reporting, and respond to emergencies.
• Supervisors must hold at least Grade 10 and PSIRA Grade B certificates, capable of leading and controlling security personnel.
• Security officers must be equipped with necessary security aids (uniform, baton, handcuffs, whistle, torch, radio, scanners).
• Maintain daily occurrence books, access control registers, and incident logs for a minimum of five years.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, including the Private Security Industry Regulation Act and BBBEE requirements.
• Implement security procedures such as shift inspections, keys management, and reporting protocols.

Skills Requirements

• Security personnel must have formal security training and valid PSIRA registration.
• Officers and supervisors must demonstrate good communication skills, especially in English.
• Officers should possess relevant experience in security operations, including access control and patrol duties.
• Supervisors must be capable of managing teams, conducting inspections, and handling emergencies effectively.
• All personnel must adhere to professional appearance standards and conduct themselves ethically and responsibly.
• Ability to maintain detailed documentation, reports, and logs accurately and confidentially.
