Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure and supply protective clothing and personal protective equipment (PPE) to Bruntville Community Health Centre (CHC). The aim is to safeguard workers from workplace hazards by providing compliant, high-quality protective garments and accessories that meet specified standards and standards approval (SABS).

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply and delivery of various protective clothing items and PPE, including:

• Navy Blue chemical-resistant suits
• Golf shirts in powder blue and khaki
• Unisex lab coats and scrub suits
• Safety footwear such as steel toe caps and Chelsea boots
• Work socks, straw hats, rain suits, gloves (leather and heat-resistant), and other protective accessories

The items are intended for use by healthcare workers, safety officers, drivers, and other personnel at Bruntville CHC, with specifications including sizes, colors, embroidery with KZN Health logos, and compliance with SABS standards.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Items must conform to the specifications attached in the tender document, including size, color, material, and embroidery with the KZN Health logo.
• Protective clothing must be approved by the South African Bureau of Standards (SABS).
• Samples of the products must be submitted for evaluation, with at least three highest-scoring bidders providing compliant samples.
• Items must be delivered in accordance with the specified quantities, packaging, and delivery timelines.
• All products must meet safety, quality, and durability standards as per the attached specifications and standards documentation.

Skills Requirements

The skills and competencies required from bidders include:

• Proven experience in supplying PPE and protective clothing to healthcare or similar sectors.
• Ability to meet technical specifications and standards compliance, including embroidery and logo placement.
• Capacity to provide samples for evaluation and adhere to quality standards.
• Efficient logistics and delivery capabilities to ensure timely supply to Bruntville CHC.
• Knowledge of procurement procedures, compliance with departmental policies, and ability to complete all documentation accurately.
• Understanding of health and safety standards applicable to PPE and protective clothing.
