Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure protein sequencing services. Specifically, the service provider is required to perform protein sequencing on 10 purified protein samples (9 from Clostridia species and 1 from Bacillus species) excised from SDS-PAGE gels. The goal is to determine peptide sequences, identify proteins, and provide sequence coverage along with raw MS data files, ensuring accurate protein identification and data quality.

Scope

The scope of the tender includes:

• Performing protein sequencing on 10 samples excised from SDS-PAGE gels.
• Utilizing a suitable mass spectrometry-based method (e.g., LC–MS/MS) for sequencing.
• Providing detailed results including identified proteins, sequence coverage, and raw MS data files.
• Ensuring all work adheres to appropriate quality control standards.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements for the service provider are as follows:

• Use of a mass spectrometry-based method such as LC–MS/MS for protein sequencing.
• Sequencing must be performed on 10 specific protein samples excised from SDS-PAGE gels.
• Provision of comprehensive results including peptide sequences, identified proteins, sequence coverage, and raw data files.
• Compliance with all relevant quality control standards during the work process.
• All quotations and services are subject to the General Conditions of Contract July 2010.

Skills Requirements

The skills and qualifications required from the service provider include:

• Expertise in mass spectrometry-based protein sequencing techniques, particularly LC–MS/MS.
• Experience in handling and preparing samples from SDS-PAGE gels for sequencing.
