Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to secure a service provider for domestic and deep cleaning services at Transnet Port Terminals in Cape Town. The contract duration is three (3) months, aiming to ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards are maintained at the specified terminals.

Scope

The scope includes providing comprehensive domestic and deep cleaning services at the Cape Town Container Terminal (CTCT) and Cape Town Multi-Purpose Terminal (CTMPT). The services encompass cleaning of designated areas, supply of cleaning materials, equipment, and transportation as specified in the Scope of Work (Annexure A). The contract covers all cleaning activities necessary to maintain the terminals' hygiene standards over the three-month period.

Technical Requirements

• Compliance with industry accreditation standards such as NCCA and other regulatory bodies, with valid proof of registration.
• Supervision: A supervisor with at least three (3) years’ experience in supervising domestic cleaning, supported by CVs of the supervisor and cleaners.
• Experience: Minimum of four (4) signed reference letters demonstrating experience in domestic and deep cleaning services over the past 3-7 years.
• Personnel: All employees must be of South African descent or hold valid work permits, with valid hygiene and cleaning training certificates.
• Transport: Evidence of at least two drivers with valid South African driver’s licenses and Professional Driver Permits (PrDP), capable of traveling between sites.
• Compliance with legal, employment equity, and safety standards, including submission of relevant certificates and proof of compliance.
• Adherence to security clearance requirements, if applicable.

Skills Requirements

• Proven experience in domestic and deep cleaning services, supported by reference letters and contractual history.
• Qualified supervisory personnel with relevant experience and training in hygiene and cleaning.
• Skilled cleaning staff with at least two years’ experience, trained in hygiene standards.
• Personnel capable of operating and maintaining cleaning equipment and transportation vehicles.
• Knowledge of industry standards and compliance with accreditation and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to coordinate and manage cleaning activities efficiently across multiple terminal sites.
