The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a service provider to deliver a comprehensive field guiding training program at Golden Gate Highlands National Park.   • Phase 1 (2-3 months): Covering standards such as creating guided experiences, conducting nature experiences, and customer care (total 44 credits).
  • Phase 2 (2-3 months): Covering standards such as conducting guided experiences, tourist guiding activities, safety management, and designing guided experiences (total 26 credits).
  • Delivery of theoretical training, assessments, moderation, and certification.
  • Partnering with accredited facilities where necessary, including shooting ranges for safety training.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

  • Delivery of accredited training aligned with SAQA unit standards at specified NQF levels.
  • Provision of training materials, assessments, moderation reports, and certificates.
  • Adherence to relevant policies, including CATHSSETA and SANParks supply chain management policies, PFMA, and Treasury Regulations.
  • Ensuring learners are assessed and supported to achieve competency; remedial plans must be in place for learners not yet competent.
  • Partnering with accredited training providers and facilities as needed.

The successful service provider must demonstrate:

  • Experience in delivering accredited training programs in tourism, guiding, or related fields, with a proven track record in sector-specific skills development.
  • Capability to manage and deliver training for unemployed youth, including designing and implementing training methodologies aligned with the scope of work.
  • Qualified team members, including:
    • Team Leader with at least 3 years’ experience managing training/skills development projects and holding a qualification at NQF level 6 or higher.
    • Assessors registered for the relevant unit standards, with at least 3 years’ assessor experience.
  • Ability to provide comprehensive training, assessment, moderation, and certification services.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislative and regulatory frameworks, including SAQA standards and B-BBEE compliance.
