Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure on-site medical emergency services at Transnet Port Terminals (TPT), Richards Bay Terminal, for a period of four (4) months. The services aim to ensure prompt and effective medical response to emergencies within the terminal environment.

Scope

The scope involves providing comprehensive medical emergency services, including ambulance and doctor services, at the Richards Bay Terminal. The scope also covers the deployment of qualified personnel, operational management, and ensuring compliance with relevant legal and safety standards as detailed in Annexure A: Scope of Work.

Technical Requirements

• Provision of ambulance and doctor services in accordance with COIDA, EMS licensing, and occupational medicine qualifications.
• Deployment of at least eight (8) qualified personnel: four (4) with Basic Life Support (BLS) and four (4) with Intermediate Life Support (ILS), with appropriate practicing licenses.
• Availability of a fleet of at least three (3) specialized ambulances, with valid vehicle registration certificates.
• Proof of ambulance registration in KwaZulu-Natal and valid EMS operating license.
• Provision of valid Public Liability insurance with a minimum cover of R50 million.
• Compliance with security clearance requirements for personnel, if applicable.
• Adherence to safety, security, and confidentiality standards, including POPIA compliance.

Skills Requirements

• Qualified medical personnel with valid licenses and certifications in emergency medical services.
• Personnel with Occupational Medicine and Nuclear Safety qualifications, including senior management with relevant diplomas.
• Operational management skills for coordinating emergency response within a port environment.
• Experience in managing medical emergency services in industrial or port settings.
• Ability to demonstrate previous relevant experience through reference letters and past performance records.
