Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure pest control services at Bruntville Community Health Centre (CHC) and Mpofana Clinic for a period of 12 months. The services aim to eradicate and control pests and vermin across various wards and departments, ensuring a safe, hygienic environment for patients and staff, compliance with health regulations, and the prevention of cross-contamination and secondary infections.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Provision of comprehensive pest control services at Bruntville CHC and Mpofana Clinic for 12 months.
• Monthly full treatment of all designated areas, including wards, departments, kitchens, toilets, storage areas, and other specified facilities.
• Installation and maintenance of fixed wall-mounted plastic rat bait traps as specified.
• Provision of corrective treatments between scheduled visits if infestations (rats, cockroaches, birds, white ants, snakes, mosquitoes, bees, wasps, moth larvae, fish moths, or other pests) become apparent.
• Use of specified pest control products conforming to S.A.B.S. standards.
• Adherence to health and safety protocols, including PPE for staff working on site.
• Submission of schedules and reports to the health care facilities, including post-service sign-offs.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements for the tender include:

• Provision of pest control services using products that meet S.A.B.S. specifications and are approved for use in health care environments.
• Use of personnel trained and registered with relevant authorities such as SAPCA or the Department of Agriculture.
• Monthly treatment schedules, with the ability to respond to infestations promptly at no additional cost.
• Submission of a detailed schedule of services 7 working days prior to each service visit.
• Completion of all services during normal working hours with minimal disruption to hospital operations.
• Provision of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and pesticide certificates for all chemicals used.
• Compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations, including PPE requirements for staff.
• Submission of proof of registration with relevant pest control authorities and associations.
• Adherence to the specifications outlined in Annexure A and B, including the product list and detailed scope of pest control activities.

In summary, the successful bidder must deliver effective pest control solutions that meet regulatory standards, ensure safety, and provide responsive, scheduled treatments over the 12-month contract period.
