Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure security services at 31 Rossouw Street in De Aar for a duration of 4 months on a month-to-month basis. The services include providing security officers for day and night shifts, including relievers, to safeguard the premises and assets, control access, patrol, and record incidents.

Scope

The scope encompasses the provision of comprehensive security services, including:

• Deployment of security officers for day and night shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
• Provision of reliever officers as needed.
• Implementation of access control, patrols, incident recording, and reporting.
• Maintenance of a 24-hour security control room and immediate availability of supervisors.
• Vetting and training of security personnel in accordance with PSIRA standards.
• Adherence to specified security duties, including reporting and incident management.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Registration with the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC).
• Compliance with the Private Security Industry Regulation Act (PSIRA), including registration of security officers and supervisors.
• Provision of security officers with Grade C or higher, trained and registered as per PSIRA standards.
• Security officers must be physically healthy, medically fit, and over 18 years old.
• Security officers must be equipped with appropriate uniform, identification, and security aids (baton, handcuffs, whistle, torch, radio, scanners).
• Implementation of security procedures such as shift inspections, occurrence books, access control registers, and incident reporting.
• Provision of insurance, compliance with health and safety standards, and adherence to the department’s security policies.
• Vetting of security personnel and background checks as required.

Skills Requirements

The skills and qualifications required for personnel include:

• Security officers must have at least Grade 10 education.
• Relevant experience of at least one month in security duties.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English and one additional language.
• Registration and certification with PSIRA, including valid security officer and supervisor certificates.
• Good physical health, mental fitness, and professional appearance.
• Ability to perform access control, patrols, incident recording, and emergency response.
• Understanding of security procedures, incident management, and reporting protocols.
• Willingness to undergo vetting and background checks.
