Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a service provider responsible for supplying and installing two electric geysers: a 150L geyser for the Durban Pump Station Control Room and a 100L geyser for the Hillcrest Depot ablution facility. The scope also includes the provision of services for a three-month period, ensuring the proper installation and commissioning of the geysers to meet operational requirements.

Scope of Services

• Supply of a 150L electric geyser for the Durban Pump Station Control Room.
• Supply of a 100L electric geyser for the Hillcrest Depot ablution facility.
• Installation and commissioning of the supplied geysers at the designated sites.
• Provision of necessary health, safety, and environmental compliance documentation prior to work commencement.
• Adherence to safety standards and site-specific safety inductions for all personnel involved.
• Monitoring and management of health and safety during the installation period.

Technical Requirements

• The geysers must be suitable for installation in the specified environments and meet the capacity specifications (150L and 100L).
• All equipment used must be compliant with relevant safety and quality standards.
• The service provider must submit a comprehensive Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) compliance file for approval before starting work.
• The SHE file must include:
  • Safety Specification Guideline (TRN-IMS-GRP-GDL-014.3)
  • Legal appointments as per the Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • Risk assessments, method statements, and safe working procedures
  • Employee induction packs and medical certificates of fitness
  • Equipment profiles and inspection checklists
  • Organogram of reporting structure
  • Statutory registers as required by the OHS Act
• All personnel must undergo safety, health, and environmental induction specific to the site hazards.
• The installation must comply with all relevant health and safety legislation and standards.

Skills Requirements

• Qualified technicians with experience in installing electric geysers and related plumbing/electrical work.
• Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations applicable to site work and equipment installation.
• Ability to prepare and submit comprehensive SHE documentation and compliance files.
• Competency in risk assessment, safe working procedures, and site safety management.
• Effective communication skills for reporting and coordination with site management and safety personnel.
• Provision of medical certificates of fitness for all personnel working on-site.
