Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure PPE and related items, including gloves, helmets, boots, masks, face shields, cryogenic gloves and aprons, and freezer suits, to meet the operational needs of Onderstepoort Biological Products Ltd. The procurement aims to ensure the supply of high-quality protective equipment that complies with safety standards and supports the health and safety of personnel handling cryogenic materials and other hazardous substances.

Scope

The scope of the tender encompasses the supply of various PPE items and accessories as specified below:

• 100 pairs of cut-resistant PU level 5 wrist gloves
• 10 white hard hats with long peaks and chinstraps
• 1 pair of Bova 80013 Max Honey boots (Size 10 or equivalent)
• 2 pairs of Bova 90006 Chelsea Steel Toe Boots (Size 8 and 9 or equivalent)
• 30 boxes of FFP2 dust masks
• 6 cryogenic handling elbow-length gloves (sizes XL, 2XL, L)
• 5 cryogenic handling aprons (sizes XL, 3XL, L)
• 4 double-lined freezer suits (sizes 3XL, 4XL, 5XL)
• Additional sizes of freezer suits (XS, S, M, L, XL, 2XL, 6XL) as specified

The scope also includes compliance with procurement procedures, submission of required documentation, and adherence to technical and quality standards.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements specify that all PPE items must meet relevant safety standards and specifications, including:

• Cut-resistant gloves with PU coating and elasticated knit wrist
• Hard hats with chinstraps and long peaks
• Steel toe boots with size and safety standards
• High-filtration disposable dust masks (EN149:2001 standard)
• Cryogenic gloves, aprons, and freezer suits with specified sizes and quality
• Cryogenic handling equipment that ensures safety and durability

All items must be new, unused, and conform to the specifications provided in the tender documentation.

Skills and Supplier Requirements

The supplier must demonstrate the following:

• Provision of a valid CSD report (for South African companies) or proof of previous supply of similar items within the last 24 months
• Completion and submission of the SBD4 Bidder’s Disclosure form
• Compliance with BBBEE certification requirements, including providing valid certificates showing black ownership, gender, or disability status
• Ability to supply the specified quantities and sizes of PPE items
• Adherence to procurement procedures, including registration on the OBP procurement portal and submission of all required documentation
• Capacity to deliver quality products that meet safety standards and specifications

Additionally, bidders must be able to demonstrate their technical capability, reliability, and compliance with legal and ethical procurement practices as outlined in the tender documentation.
