Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to solicit bids for the supply and delivery of Aluminium Sodium Oxide Lye (Sodium Aluminate) to the Cape Agulhas Municipality for a period ending 30 June 2027. The goal is to ensure a reliable supply of this chemical as a secondary flocculant, meeting specified quality standards and technical requirements.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Provision of Aluminium Sodium Oxide Lye in accordance with ISO 9001:2008 specifications.
• Supply and delivery of the specified quantity of the chemical to designated municipal sites.
• Adherence to technical and quality specifications, including appearance, aluminium oxide content, iron content, insoluble content, and relative density.
• Completion of all contractual obligations within the stipulated timeframe and conditions.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications for the Aluminium Sodium Oxide Lye are as follows:

• Appearance: 19.0 to 21.0 % m/m as Na₂O
• Aluminium Oxide Content: 19.0 to 21.0 % m/m as Al₂O₃
• Maximum Iron Content: 0.05 % m/m
• Maximum Insoluble Content: 0.2 % m/m
• Relative Density at 20°C: 1.4 - 1.6 g/ml

Skills and Competency Requirements

Bidders must demonstrate:

• Relevant experience in supplying and delivering chemical products of similar nature and scale.
• Compliance with ISO 9001:2008 quality management standards.
• Ability to meet technical specifications and quality standards specified in the tender documents.
• Capability to provide reliable logistics and timely delivery to municipal sites.
• Provision of necessary documentation, including certificates of incorporation, tax compliance, B-BBEE status, and previous work references.
• Understanding of municipal procurement policies and adherence to all legal and technical requirements outlined in the tender.
