Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure a service provider to supply and deliver portable (drinking) water using water tankers in Queenstown and surrounding areas for a period of four months. The initiative aims to ensure the provision of safe drinking water to the community during the specified period.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Supply and delivery of potable water in Queenstown and surrounding areas.
• Use of water tankers with a minimum capacity of 5000 liters, owned by the bidder or the company's director.
• Provision of water compliant with SANS 241 standards.
• Delivery to site and/or filling of water tanks on-site as required.
• Contract duration of four months, with specified quantities and delivery schedules.

Technical Requirements

• Water must meet SANS 241 standards for drinking water.
• Bidder must own a water tanker or drop side truck with a minimum capacity of 5000 liters, registered in the company's or director’s name.
• Rates must be inclusive of water, labor, transport, equipment, overheads, profit, and all related costs.
• Bidder must submit proof of ownership (registration papers) of the tanker.
• Rate submission must include delivery, supply, and filling of water tanks on-site.
• All tender documentation must be completed in non-erasable ink and submitted in accordance with specified procedures.

Skills and Competency Requirements

• Ownership of a 5000L water tanker or equivalent vehicle, registered in the company or director’s name.
• Experience in the supply and delivery of potable water, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
• Ability to provide proof of ownership and registration of water tankers.
• Understanding of the procurement and delivery process, including adherence to technical standards and safety regulations.
• Capacity to deliver the required volume of water within specified timelines and in a manner that meets quality standards.
• Registration on the National Treasury’s Central Supplier Database (CSD).
