Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure services for the servicing of fire extinguishers across all seven local offices within the King Cetshwayo District. The aim is to ensure that fire safety equipment is maintained in accordance with relevant standards and specifications, thereby enhancing safety and compliance within the district offices.

Scope

The scope of the tender includes:

• Servicing of fire extinguishers in all district offices, including specific training centers and local offices.
• Supply and installation of fire hose reels as per specified standards.
• Compliance with SANS 10105-1 and SANS 1475-2 standards.
• Meeting registration and certification requirements such as SAQCC, SABS, and other relevant authorities.
• Delivery of services within the specified delivery period, starting from the initial order date.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements for the service provider include:

• Registration with the South Africa Qualification and Certification Committee (SAQCC).
• SABS registration as issued by the Department of Labour.
• Letter of good standing from the Workers’ Compensation Fund.
• Accreditation for pressure testing of CO2 fire extinguishers.
• Membership with the Fire Equipment Trade Association (FFETA) where applicable.
• Provision of servicing for specific types of fire extinguishers, including DCP fire extinguishers of various weights.
• Compliance with relevant standards and inspection requirements, including SANS standards and SABS inspection where applicable.

Skills Requirements

The skills and qualifications required from the service provider include:

• Qualified personnel with South Africa qualification and certification in fire extinguisher servicing.
• Technical expertise in pressure testing, maintenance, and servicing of fire extinguishers.
• Knowledge of relevant standards such as SANS 10105-1 and SANS 1475-2.
• Ability to supply and install fire hose reels according to standards.
• Experience in servicing fire safety equipment across multiple locations within a district.
• Capability to meet certification and registration requirements with relevant authorities.
