Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure a service provider capable of delivering non-credit bearing training on conflict management. The training aims to equip participants with skills to recognize, prevent, and resolve conflicts in farm and rural community settings through structured mediation, communication, and negotiation techniques. The training also seeks to develop participants' ability to establish grievance mechanisms, understand legal and community dispute resolution processes, and facilitate conflict reduction strategies on farms.

Scope

The scope encompasses the design and delivery of a comprehensive conflict management training program tailored for beneficiaries in King Cetshwayo District, including:

• Training for 25 learners over a 5-day period (26-30 January 2026) in Richards Bay.
• Coverage of key topics such as conflict types, South African laws, confidentiality, cultural sensitivity, union involvement, communication skills, mediation, negotiation, grievance mechanisms, policies, and facilitation skills.
• Practical exercises including role-plays, conflict mapping, mediation simulations, and development of farm-specific grievance procedures and codes of conduct.
• Preparation of training materials in isiZulu or English, including learner activities and visual aids.
• Post-training reporting, including facilitator reports, evaluation forms, attendance registers, and certification of learners.

Technical Requirements

• Provision of accredited training with relevant SETA accreditation (AGRISETA).
• Development of detailed lesson plans and training content covering all specified topics, approximately 100 pages or equivalent.
• Use of qualified trainers with relevant qualifications, 2-3 years’ experience, and registration with the appropriate SERVICE-SETA.
• Delivery of training in accordance with prescribed times (8 am to 4 pm), ensuring 60% classroom theory and 40% practical activities.
• Provision of all necessary inputs and resources for practical exercises.
• Submission of facilitator reports, learner evaluations, attendance registers, and certification documentation post-training.
• Clear communication and agreement on implementation details before commencement, including timelines and deliverables.

Skills Requirements

• Qualified trainers with relevant educational background and at least 2-3 years’ experience in conflict management, mediation, or related fields.
• Ability to develop and deliver training content in isiZulu and English, tailored to farm and rural community contexts.
• Proficiency in facilitation, adult learning principles, and practical training methodologies.
• Experience in designing grievance mechanisms, policies, and dispute resolution procedures for agricultural or rural settings.
• Strong communication, cultural sensitivity, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Capability to produce comprehensive training materials, including learner activities, exercises, and visual aids.
