Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to secure services for the maintenance and servicing of all fire equipment at the Umbumbulu Local Office, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and safety regulations.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Servicing all fire equipment at the Umbumbulu Local Office as per attached specifications.
• Specific attention to portable fire extinguishers (9 x 4.5kg and 6 x 9kg units).
• Ensuring service providers meet registration and certification requirements, including SAQCC, SABS, Department of Labour permits, and other relevant approvals.

Technical Requirements

The service must adhere to the following technical standards and specifications:

• Compliance with SANS 10105-1 for fire equipment servicing.
• Registration with the South African Qualification and Certification Committee (SAQCC).
• SABS registration in terms of SANS 1475.
• Current permits issued by the Department of Labour and a letter of good standing from Workmen's Compensation.
• SANAS approval for CO2 pressure testing and membership with FFETA where applicable.

Skills and Certification Requirements

The service provider must possess:

• Registration with SAQCC for fire equipment servicing.
• SABS registration as per relevant standards.
• Permits issued by the Department of Labour for fire safety services.
• Letter of good standing from Workmen's Compensation.
• SANAS accreditation for pressure testing of CO2 systems.
• Membership with FFETA (Fire Equipment Trade Association) if necessary.
