Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure a supply, delivery, offloading, installation, and training for one laboratory ice making machine that meets specified technical standards. The machine is intended for laboratory and sample cooling applications, producing true flake ice suitable for scientific and industrial use.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Supply of one self-contained laboratory ice flaker with specified minimum technical features.
• Delivery to the designated address at Analytical Services, Cedara.
• Offloading and installation of the equipment.
• Training on the operation and maintenance of the machine.
• Provision of manufacturer warranty and necessary accessories such as water inlet/outlet pipes, ice scoop, and user manual.

Technical Requirements

The ice making machine must:

• Produce true flake ice only (moist flake ice); cube, nugget, or other forms are not acceptable.
• Have a minimum ice production capacity of 70 kg per 24 hours.
• Have a built-in storage capacity of at least 25 kg.
• Be self-contained, plug-and-play, requiring only water, drainage, and electrical connections.
• Have a corrosion-resistant stainless steel exterior.
• Operate electronically with self-diagnostic and alarm functions.
• Have maximum dimensions of 535 mm (W) × 626 mm (D) × 813 mm (H).
• Run on electrical supply of 230 V, 50 Hz, single phase.
• Include a minimum 2-year warranty with local servicing and spare parts support.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must:

• Possess technical expertise in the supply and installation of laboratory ice machines.
• Ensure the provision of training to end-users on operation and maintenance.
• Provide after-sales support, including local servicing and spare parts within the warranty period.
• Ensure compliance with SABS specifications and inspection requirements, if applicable.
