Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply, deliver, and offload laboratory consumables as specified in the attached technical specifications. The procurement aims to ensure the availability of quality laboratory consumables to support analytical and research activities within the designated department.

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply, delivery, and offloading of various laboratory consumables and equipment, including gloves, volumetric flasks, beakers, flasks, pipette tips, spatulas, cuvettes, sieves, ice bricks, wash bottles, and spray bottles. The items are to be supplied to the Analytical Services unit at Cedara, uMngeni District, within the specified delivery period.

Technical Requirements

• All consumables and equipment must meet the specified standards, such as ISO 1042, ISO 3819, DIN 12331, ISO 1773, and ISO 3310-1, or equivalent standards.
• Items must be high-quality borosilicate glass, stainless steel, or durable plastic suitable for laboratory use.
• Gloves must be powder-free, latex-free, and available in Small, Large, and Extra Large sizes.
• Volumetric flasks must have Class A accuracy, with appropriate stoppers, and comply with ISO 1042.
• Beakers and flasks must be made of high-quality borosilicate glass, conforming to relevant standards.
• Pipette tips must be compatible with Gilson PIPETMAN® micropipettes, with sample verification prior to full supply.
• All items must be inspected and, where applicable, comply with SABS specifications.
• Delivery must occur within the specified timeframe after the initial order, with offloading included.

Skills Requirements

Suppliers must demonstrate:

• Technical expertise in laboratory consumables and equipment supply.
• Ability to meet quality standards and specifications, including relevant ISO and SABS standards.
• Capacity to deliver within the stipulated delivery period.
• Provision of sample pipette tips for verification of fit and performance.
• Experience in handling and supplying laboratory-grade consumables and equipment.
• Compliance with all technical and safety standards applicable to laboratory products.
