Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply, deliver, and offload protective clothing and related items as specified in the detailed technical specifications. The aim is to procure quality protective gear that meets safety standards and departmental branding requirements, ensuring the safety and well-being of personnel in the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.

Scope

The scope encompasses the provision of various protective clothing items including:

• Branded T-shirts in multiple sizes and fabric specifications
• Non-steel toe cap hiker boots in different sizes and styles
• Branded Chelsea boots in different sizes
• Wide brim hats, dustcoats, housecoats, and puffer jackets with branding
• Work jackets and trousers in olive color with specified features
• Armour and dry-fit gumboots in various sizes
• Anti-static socks and nitrile gloves
• Face masks, face shields, aprons, and other personal protective equipment (PPE)

The items must comply with specified standards, including SABS specifications where applicable, and must be branded with the departmental logo prior to delivery.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Compliance with specified fabric types, weights, and styles
• Samples of all items must be produced and approved prior to bulk production
• Items must be branded with the departmental logo before delivery
• Protective footwear must meet EN standards and be slip-resistant and durable
• Clothing must be constructed with durable, breathable, and long-lasting materials (e.g., Versatex® fabric)
• Items such as gumboots and gloves must meet safety and quality standards, including slip resistance and allergen-free materials
• All PPE must be packaged appropriately, with clear labeling and compliance documentation

Skills and Capacity Requirements

The successful bidder must demonstrate:

• Proven experience in supplying PPE and workwear to government or similar organizations
• Capability to produce high-quality samples for approval prior to mass production
• Ability to meet delivery deadlines and handle bulk orders efficiently
• Compliance with all safety, quality, and branding standards specified in the tender
• Proper understanding of technical specifications and standards such as SABS
• Capacity to provide after-sales support and handle potential product queries or issues
