Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply, deliver, and offload laboratory consumables as specified in the attached specifications. The goal is to ensure the procurement of quality laboratory consumables to support the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development's operations within KwaZulu-Natal Province.

Scope

The scope includes the supply, delivery, and offloading of laboratory consumables such as chemicals and reagents (e.g., Chloroform, Acetone, Butanol-1-ol, Carboxymethyl Cellulose Sodium Salt) to the specified delivery address at Cedara Road, Hilton. The procurement covers the required quantities, delivery timelines, and compliance with technical standards, including SABS specifications where applicable.

Technical Requirements

• The supplied items must meet the specifications outlined in the attached technical document.
• All articles must comply with SABS standards and have been inspected accordingly, if applicable.
• Delivery must be completed within the specified delivery period after the initial order.
• The items must be supplied with appropriate documentation, including proof of compliance and inspection where required.
• The supplier must hold stock at a physical address specified in the quotation.
• Pricing must be inclusive of VAT, with VAT details provided by registered VAT vendors.

Skills and Qualification Requirements

• Proven experience in supplying laboratory consumables and chemicals.
• Compliance with technical standards and specifications, including SABS certification and inspection where applicable.
• Ability to deliver within the stipulated timeframe and handle offloading at the specified delivery address.
• Registration on the Central Supplier Database (CSD) and valid BBBEE certification or sworn affidavit.
• Knowledge of procurement procedures and adherence to the Department’s bidding and contractual processes.
• For VAT vendors, the ability to provide VAT registration details and comply with tax compliance requirements.
