Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply, deliver, and offload protective clothing and related apparel to the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Agriculture and Rural Development. The procurement aims to ensure the provision of high-quality protective clothing that meets specified standards and specifications, supporting the department's operational needs.

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply, delivery, and offloading of various protective clothing items and uniforms, including:

• Protective dust coats with specified features and sizes
• Men's work jeans in specified sizes and colours
• Female pants chinos with stretch fabric
• Short sleeve shirts for both males and females, with departmental logos
• Long sleeve stretch cotton poplin shirts for males
• Pleated poplin dresses for females
• Lightweight work boots in various sizes and colours
• Waterproof shoes for ladies
• Essential jackets with embroidered emblems

The items must conform to the attached specifications, including safety, durability, and branding requirements.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications include:

• Compliance with SABS standards and specifications where applicable
• Construction with durable, breathable, and high-quality fabrics such as VERSATEX®, cotton canvas, cotton twill, stretch cotton, and waterproof materials
• Features such as reinforced stress points, concealed zips, bar tacks, and safety pockets
• Specific design features including size variations, departmental logos, and optional accessories (e.g., tie belts, additional laces)
• Items must be delivered within specified periods after order placement
• Items must be new, unused, and meet the specified safety and quality standards

Skills and Capacity Requirements

Suppliers must demonstrate:

• Proven experience in supplying protective clothing and uniforms to government or large organizations
• Ability to meet technical specifications and quality standards
• Capacity to deliver within the stipulated delivery periods
• Compliance with legal, tax, and procurement regulations, including tax clearance and BBBEE requirements
• Provision of supporting documentation such as BBBEE certificates, CSD reports, and relevant certifications
• Capacity to handle bulk orders and logistical arrangements for timely delivery and offloading
