Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure renovation services for the NHLS Kokstad Park Home. The project aims to upgrade and refurbish the facility to meet operational standards, ensuring safety, functionality, and compliance with relevant regulations.

Scope

The scope of work includes, but is not limited to:

• Renovation of the Boardroom & Call Room, including removal and installation of partition panels and lighting.
• Flooring works, including removal of existing vinyl and skirting, and installation of new vinyl sheeting.
• Construction of drywall partitions and support framing with finishes.
• Installation of doors, windows, glazing, blinds, suspended ceilings, and partitioning.
• Painting and finishing of walls, ceilings, and steelwork.
• Tiling of floors and walls with specified ceramic/porcelain tiles.
• Electrical works including wiring, socket outlets, lighting, and installation of Geysers and emergency showers.
• Plumbing works, including installation of sinks, toilets, urinals, and associated fixtures.
• Additional works such as signage, safety measures, and site management.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements specify adherence to:

• Compliance with the National Building Regulations, SANS standards, and relevant legislation.
• Use of approved materials, fixtures, and fittings, all SABS approved.
• Installation of safety and security features, including weather stripping, safety glass, and fire-rated partitions.
• Electrical installations to conform to SANS10142 standards, with proper earthing and labeling.
• Plumbing installations to meet health and safety standards, with appropriate fixtures and fittings.
• Proper site management, including phased works to ensure minimal disruption to hospital operations.

Skills Requirements

The tender requires bidders to possess the following skills and qualifications:

• Registration with CIDB in at least 1GB grading or higher for construction works.
• Proven experience in renovation and refurbishment projects of similar scope and scale.
• Qualified and certified tradespeople, including licensed electricians and plumbers.
• Capability to manage project timelines, quality control, and compliance with safety standards.
• Ability to coordinate with hospital management to ensure phased and safe execution of works.
• Knowledge of health and safety legislation, including OHS Act compliance.
