Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a maximum of four service providers to establish a framework agreement for the servicing, supply, and installation of all plumbing works at Nelson Mandela and Sarah Bartman Business Units over an 18-month period.

Scope

The scope encompasses:

• Servicing, supply, and installation of plumbing works including water supply, drainage, and related systems.
• Electrical and mechanical installations related to plumbing systems, such as geysers, emergency showers, and hydroboils.
• Construction activities including drywall partitioning, ceiling installation, tiling, painting, glazing, and door installations.
• Site preparation, repairs, and finishing works as per detailed specifications.
• Compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards throughout the project duration.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Provision of qualified and registered plumbers and electricians.
• Use of SABS approved materials and adherence to SANS10142 and other relevant standards.
• Installation of plumbing fixtures such as toilets, urinals, sinks, geysers, and emergency showers according to specifications.
• Electrical wiring and installation for plumbing-related equipment, ensuring safety and compliance.
• Construction of drywall partitions, ceilings, tiling, glazing, and painting as per approved drawings and standards.
• Development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for maintenance and operational procedures.
• Implementation of safety protocols and risk management measures.

Skills Requirements

The skills and qualifications required from bidders include:

• CIDB registration in the grading designation 1ME or higher.
• Proven experience in plumbing, electrical, and construction works of similar scope and complexity.
• Trade certificates for plumbers and electricians.
• Ability to provide technical support, site supervision, and project management.
• Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental legislation and standards.
• Capacity to develop and implement SOPs, quality assurance, and compliance documentation.
• Demonstrated financial stability and capacity to execute the contract within the stipulated period.
