Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure services for the refurbishment of the auditorium space on the 1st Floor at Natalia Building, ensuring the space is upgraded to meet specified standards and requirements.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Refurbishment of the auditorium, including flooring, walls, doors, electrical systems, seminar tables, whiteboards, and related finishes.
• Removal of existing carpets, furniture, and fixtures, followed by preparation of surfaces.
• Supply, delivery, and installation of new flooring (Speckled Effect Grey vinyl), seminar tables, electrical fittings (LED downlights, tubes, switches), wall panel touch-ups, varnishing, and other finishing works.
• Compliance with relevant standards, regulations, and safety requirements, including Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993.
• Completion within a specified timeframe of four weeks from contract award.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements specify that:

• All work must conform to the National Building Regulations and Building Standards Act 103 of 1977.
• Work must adhere to Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993 and associated regulations.
• All materials and workmanship must be of the highest standard, with new and unused items, including SABS-marked products where applicable.
• Electrical installations must meet specified specifications, including LED lighting, switches, and other electrical fittings.
• Flooring must be smooth, even, and installed according to manufacturer specifications, with proper finishing and trimming.
• All surfaces, doors, and fixtures must be properly prepared, sanded, varnished, and finished to match existing standards.
• Work must be coordinated to minimize disruption, with prior notification and planning.

Skills Requirements

The tenderer must demonstrate:

• CIDB contractor grading of 2GB or higher.
• Qualified tradespeople with proof of trade tests in carpentry, painting, and electrical work.
• Experience in similar refurbishment projects, supported by award letters and completion certificates.
• Knowledge of relevant building regulations, safety standards, and occupational health requirements.
• Ability to coordinate and execute works within the specified timeframe, ensuring quality and safety compliance.
