Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a competent service provider to remove, dispose of asbestos roof sheets, and replace them with corrugated roof sheets at Uitsoek Plantation. Additionally, the project aims to ensure safe asbestos removal in compliance with health regulations, and to deliver completed, neatly finished structures.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Removal and disposal of asbestos roof sheets on village houses at Uitsoek Plantation.
• Supply and installation of new 0.6mm galvanized IBR corrugated roof sheets, including cutting and securing.
• Supply and installation of 0.45mm galvanized roof ridges and neat bending on edges.
• Provision of all necessary resources, including purlins (75mm x 50mm CCA treated timber), sisalation, roof ridge covers, and beam filling of external and internal walls.
• Neatening, painting, and finishing to match existing structures.
• Delivery of all materials and completion of work within one calendar month.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements encompass:

• Removal and safe disposal of asbestos roof sheets at designated asbestos disposal sites, by a registered asbestos handling contractor.
• Supply and installation of galvanized corrugated roof sheets, roof ridges, and associated materials as specified.
• Use of specified materials such as 75mm x 50mm CCA treated timber for purlins, sisalation, and galvanized roof components.
• Adherence to health and safety regulations, including asbestos handling, PPE usage, and site safety protocols.
• Inspection and approval of materials before installation, with scheduled inspections during the work process.
• Completion within 1 month, with payments linked to inspection and sign-off of each completed structure.

Skills Requirements

The tenderer must demonstrate:

• Registration with relevant authorities for asbestos handling and disposal.
• Experience in asbestos removal and disposal projects, particularly in residential or village settings.
• Proven capability to supply and install galvanized corrugated roofing materials according to industry standards.
• Competence in working safely with hazardous materials, including asbestos, and adherence to health and safety legislation.
• Ability to coordinate logistics, supply chain, and site management efficiently within the project timeline.
• Qualified personnel with relevant certifications, such as registered asbestos handlers, electricians (for electrical works), and builders with CIDB grading 1GB or higher.
• Capacity to provide quality assurance, inspection schedules, and compliance documentation throughout the project.
