Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to carry out the renovation of the TB Laboratory at Tshepong Hospital, ensuring the facility meets the required standards and specifications for operational efficiency and safety.

Scope

The scope encompasses comprehensive renovation works including demolition, construction, installation of fixtures and fittings, electrical and plumbing works, flooring, wall finishes, ceiling installations, and associated works as detailed in the scope of work and Bill of Quantities. It also includes site preparation, safety measures, and compliance with relevant standards and regulations.

Technical Requirements

• Complete removal of existing benches, cupboards, notice boards, basins, sinks, and associated fixtures.
• Construction of new openings in brick walls with plaster reveals and rhinolite finishing.
• Supply and installation of aluminium framed doors and windows with safety laminated glass, including burglar proofing and hardware fittings.
• Electrical works including conduit installation, lighting, switches, sockets, and air conditioning units with proper wiring, isolators, and compliance certificates.
• Plumbing works including installation of porcelain hand wash basins, stainless steel sinks, geysers, toilets, urinals, emergency showers, and associated piping with proper fixtures and certification.
• Flooring: Vinyl, ceramic tiles, and carpet installations with proper sub-floor preparation and finishing.
• Wall finishes including painting, plastering, and wall repairs, with preparation and priming as per manufacturer specifications.
• Ceiling installations including suspended ceilings with insulation backing.
• Partitioning using drywall systems with finishes suitable for hospital environment.
• Provision of lockers, signage, and other storage solutions as specified.
• Adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations, including risk management and insurance requirements.

Skills Requirements

• Registered and qualified electricians, plumbers, and HVAC technicians with relevant licenses and trade certificates.
• Experience in hospital or laboratory renovation projects, with proven track record and references.
• Capability to undertake demolition, construction, and finishing works in sensitive environments with minimal disruption.
• Skilled carpenters, tilers, painters, and drywall installers familiar with hospital standards.
• Project management skills, including coordination, supervision, and compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Knowledge of applicable South African standards (SANS), CIDB grading requirements, and health and safety regulations.
• Ability to prepare and submit all required documentation, including safety plans, certificates, and compliance reports.
