Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to solicit quotations from suitable and experienced service providers for the renovation of the Malangeni Library roof, including specific works such as sandblasting, sealing, painting, and installation of security locks and door realignment to improve the library's infrastructure and security.

Scope

The scope of work encompasses:

• Sandblasting, sealing, and painting all metal rafters to match existing internal and external colours.
• Supply and installation of security hardware including:
• Heavy-duty union lock for the fire room.
• Six four-lever union locks for inter-leading doors.
• Two metal hinges with four-lever locks.
• Heavy-duty lock for aluminium door.
• Realignment of main entrance doors to ensure they are lockable.

The work must be carried out on-site at Malangeni Library, adhering to safety, quality, and environmental standards.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Use of good quality SABS-approved materials.
• Site safety and security management by the service provider.
• Provision of a three-year guarantee on workmanship.
• Realignment of main entrance doors to ensure proper locking mechanisms.
• Completion of work within specified commencement and completion dates.
• Disposal of all waste materials to the nearest landfill site.
• Site meeting prior to submission of quotations.

The successful service provider must possess:

• Experience in metal surface preparation, painting, and sealing.
• Proficiency in installation of security hardware such as locks, hinges, and door realignment.
