Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure services for the renovation of Ward C4 at Wentworth Hospital, including minor repairs, plumbing, tiling, painting, electrical inspections, window replacements, and associated works to improve hospital facilities.

Scope

The scope encompasses:

• Supply and installation of materials as per the Bill of Quantities and drawings.
• Renovation works including replacement of countertops, plumbing repairs, tiling, painting, window replacements, electrical testing, and ward heater reinstallation.
• Site clearance, safety compliance, and adherence to departmental specifications and standards.
• Completion within a four-week period from site handover.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Compliance with all relevant standards, including SABS specifications and Occupational Health and Safety Act 85/1993.
• Provision of a detailed Health & Safety Plan approved by the Department of Health.
• Electrical inspections and certification (CoC) for all electrical work.
• Use of specified proprietary materials, e.g., quartz countertops, non-slip vinyl flooring.
• Proper installation, testing, and commissioning of ward heaters and electrical systems.
• Adherence to site safety, environmental, and operational protocols.

Skills Requirements

The tenderer must demonstrate:

• Qualified tradespersons, including electricians, plumbers, carpenters, and general builders, with relevant certifications and experience.
• Proven track record of similar hospital renovation projects, supported by completion certificates and references.
• Compliance with health and safety regulations, including the submission of a valid Safety File and Good Standing Certificate from the Department of Labour.
• Capability to complete the project within the stipulated timeframe, with adequate staffing and resource planning.
• Ability to provide technical documentation, including CoC certificates, drawings, and safety plans.
