Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to solicit quotations for the repair of damages at Ludimala Clinic, specifically focusing on storm damage repairs. The aim is to ensure the clinic's infrastructure is restored to a safe and functional condition in compliance with relevant standards and regulations.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Supply, delivery, and installation of materials necessary for storm damage repairs at Ludimala Clinic.
• Carrying out repairs to roofs, walls, and other affected structures as per the provided drawings and specifications.
• Ensuring all work is completed within the stipulated contract period of three weeks, with a lead time of one week and two weeks for site work.
• Adhering to all relevant health, safety, and occupational regulations, including the Occupational Health and Safety Act 85/1993.
• Site clearance and ensuring the work area is kept clean and safe throughout the project.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Compliance with the specifications outlined in the technical documentation, including the Department of Health's standard preambles and relevant standards such as SABS 0400.
• Use of approved proprietary materials and adherence to specified brand or trade names unless otherwise authorized.
• Proper structural support and safety measures during installation, including scaffolding, ladder safety, and electrical safety protocols.
• Implementation of occupational health and safety procedures, including hazard notices, PPE, machine guarding, and emergency plans.
• Completion of all work in accordance with the scope, drawings, and specifications provided, with quality control and inspection at each stage.

Skills Requirements

The tenderer must demonstrate:

• Competence in storm damage repairs, including roofing, structural repairs, and general building maintenance.
• Experience in executing similar repairs in healthcare or institutional settings, with references to previous projects.
• Qualified personnel with appropriate trade certifications, including supervisors, technicians, and skilled workers.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations, including the Occupational Health and Safety Act and related standards.
• Ability to prepare and implement safety plans, risk assessments, and site management procedures.
• Capacity to complete the project within the specified timeframe, with sufficient staffing and resources.
