Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure services for the repair of steam leaks in various areas within Madadeni Hospital. The work aims to ensure the proper functioning of steam systems, prevent leaks, and maintain safety and operational standards within the hospital facilities.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Repairing steam leaks at specific locations such as the 8-inch valve in the car park, 6-inch valves near the kitchen and behind transport, condensate leaks in the boiler house, and other identified points.
• Replacing or repairing condensate pumps, float switches, automatic switches, steam traps, sight checks, and various valves and nipples as specified.
• Cleaning the work areas post-completion and ensuring high standards of neatness, cleanliness, and compliance with specifications.
• Work duration is approximately one week, with all work to be completed within the specified timeframe.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Use of materials that are SABS approved.
• High standards of workmanship, neatness, and cleanliness.
• Replacement of specified valves, pumps, switches, and other components as detailed in the scope of work.
• Proper sealing, fitting, and testing of repaired or replaced components to prevent future leaks.
• Site cleanup after work completion.
• Work must adhere to the specifications outlined in the tender documents and annexures.

Skills Requirements

The skills and qualifications required for the service providers include:

• Qualified and experienced technicians or engineers with expertise in steam system repairs and maintenance.
• Knowledge of plumbing, valve repair/replacement, and boiler system components.
• Ability to work safely in a hospital environment, adhering to safety standards and protocols.
• Capability to handle high-pressure steam systems and perform precise repairs and replacements.
• Competence in site cleanup and ensuring minimal disruption to hospital operations.
