Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to secure services for the repair of calorifiers at Appelsbosch Hospital, ensuring they are restored to proper working condition in compliance with relevant standards and specifications.

Scope

The scope includes the execution of repairs on multiple calorifiers located in various plant rooms within the hospital. Specific tasks involve replacing faulty valves, gauges, switches, electrical components, and other accessories, as well as ensuring the entire system is operational and compliant with safety and quality standards. The work must be carried out with minimal disruption to hospital operations and in accordance with all relevant regulations and standards, including SABS and SANS.

Technical Requirements

• Execution of repairs on specified calorifiers, including replacement of leaking valves, corroded parts, defective gauges, switches, and electrical components.
• Compliance with SABS approval for materials and workmanship (CIDB EB grading).
• Adherence to standards such as SANS 10142-1, Occupational Health and Safety Act, and relevant electrical and building codes.
• Proper site inspection prior to commencement, with the contractor responsible for understanding existing conditions.
• Provision of a technical report, drawings, labeling, and warranty upon completion.
• Work to be completed within the specified contract period, with penalties for non-completion.
• All materials and workmanship must be approved and conform to the specified standards.

Skills Requirements

• Proven experience in repairing and maintaining calorifiers and related heating systems.
• Qualified refrigeration technicians with proof of relevant certifications and CIDB grading (EB).
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations, including the use of PPE and site safety procedures.
• Capability to coordinate with hospital maintenance personnel and ensure minimal disruption during repairs.
• Competence in testing, commissioning, and providing compliance certificates (COC).
• Effective communication skills for reporting and documentation purposes.
