Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure services for repairs after servicing on laundry equipment at St Francis Hospital. The aim is to ensure the laundry machinery is maintained in optimal working condition through qualified repair services, supported by warranties and adherence to technical standards.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Performing repairs on laundry equipment such as Speed Queen, sluice machines, and washing machines following servicing.
• Replacing specific components including doors, heating elements, drain valves, fuses, PC boards, contactors, and door lockers.
• Attaching a 6-month warranty letter covering any subsequent repairs within this period without additional payment.
• Providing detailed technical specifications, including compliance with SABS standards.
• Completing all repairs within the contractual period, with adherence to specified technical and quality standards.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements specify:

• Replacement of specific parts on designated laundry equipment models.
• Use of approved and compliant materials, with adherence to SABS standards.
• Provision of a 6-month warranty letter for all repairs, ensuring free repairs if issues arise within this period.
• Completion of repairs with certified electrical or mechanical certificates and trade test documentation.
• Attaching warranty letters on the day of completion, confirming obligation to provide free repairs within six months.
• Compliance with detailed technical specifications provided in annexures, including scope of work and repair procedures.

Skills Requirements

The skills and qualifications required for bidders include:

• Qualified technicians with trade test certificates in electrical or mechanical trades (CIDB Grade 1 or above preferred).
• Experience in repairing laundry equipment, including Speed Queen, sluice, and washing machines.
• Ability to diagnose faults accurately and replace components as specified.
• Provision of technical documentation such as blueprints, drawings, and certification of trade skills.
• Capability to provide warranty support and follow-up repairs within the warranty period.
• Knowledge of compliance standards such as SABS and adherence to safety and quality protocols.
