Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to carry out repairs and renovations to the main kitchen change rooms at St Marys Marianhill Hospital. The work includes preparing walls, painting, and installing stainless steel shower rails and curtains to improve the facilities.

Scope

The scope of work encompasses:

• Repairs and renovations to the male and female change rooms, including floor repairs, painting, and door servicing.
• Installation of stainless steel rails, shower curtains, and replacement of fixtures such as towel rails and paper towel holders.
• Repairs to female showers, including painting and fitting of shower rails and curtains.
• Replacement of aluminum louvre on doors, patching walls, and general maintenance of the kitchen and staff change rooms.
• Preparation of walls for painting, including crack filling and surface cleaning.

The work will be conducted on-site at the existing premises with minimal disruption, adhering to specified standards and safety protocols.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications include:

• Compliance with CIDB Grade 1GB, relevant experience, and trade test certification for the contractor.
• Adherence to the detailed specifications provided, including wall preparation, painting, and installation of fixtures.
• Use of approved materials and equipment as specified in the annexure and bill of quantities.
• Guarantee period of at least six (6) months for the completed work and materials.
• Completion period of four (4) weeks from site handover.
• Compliance with South African National Building Regulations, Occupational Health and Safety Act, and relevant standards.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must demonstrate:

• Proven experience in general building repairs, maintenance, and renovations within the last three years.
• Valid CIDB registration with a minimum grading of 1GB.
• Trade test certification for registered technicians involved in the project.
• Capability to execute the scope of work efficiently, adhering to technical specifications and safety standards.
• Ability to coordinate site activities to minimize disruption to hospital operations.
