Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure services for repairs and renovations to St Annes Clinic, ensuring the facility is maintained to the required standards, with minimal disruption to ongoing services. The work aims to improve the infrastructure, safety, and functionality of the clinic in accordance with specified standards and specifications.

Scope

The scope encompasses comprehensive repairs and renovations at St Annes Clinic, including but not limited to:

• Preparation and painting of walls and ceilings in various rooms such as Emergency Room, Vital Sign Room, Treatment Room, Kitchen, and others.
• Installation of new fixtures such as ceiling fans, aluminium sliding doors, cupboards, and lighting fittings.
• Repair and replacement of existing cabinetry, shelving, and wall finishes.
• Preparation of surfaces for painting, including scraping, filling, sanding, and priming.
• Adherence to specified standards and drawings, with work carried out on-site at Mariannhill, St Mary’s Hospital.
• Completion within a four-week period, with a minimum guarantee period of six months for all work and materials.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Compliance with the attached specifications and drawings.
• Use of approved materials and equipment, such as CIDB Grade 1GB registered contractors, specified paints, and fixtures.
• Preparation of surfaces to ensure proper adhesion and finish, including scraping, filling, sanding, and priming.
• Application of specified paints: polyurethane acrylic hybrid for walls, non-drip enamel satin for doors and frames, with minimum 7-year guarantees.
• Installation of specified fixtures like ceiling fans, cupboards, and lighting fittings, ensuring proper fit and finish.
• Work to be performed with minimal disruption, respecting existing occupancy and safety standards.
• Adherence to relevant South African standards, building regulations, and occupational health and safety acts.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must demonstrate:

• Proven experience in general building work, repairs, and renovations within the past three years, supported by reference letters or completion certificates.
• Valid CIDB registration with a minimum Grade 1GB.
• Trade testing and certification for technicians involved in specialized tasks.
• Capability to execute the scope of work within the specified timeframe, with quality assurance measures in place.
• Knowledge of and compliance with relevant standards, safety regulations, and contractual obligations.
• Capacity to coordinate and execute multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining safety and quality standards.
