Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to replace shatterproof glass and repair aluminium handles and doors at St Andrews Hospital, KwaZulu-Natal. The work aims to ensure the safety, functionality, and maintenance of hospital infrastructure related to glass and aluminium door components.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Supply and installation of shatterproof glass replacements.
• Repair of aluminium handles and doors as specified.
• Adherence to specifications outlined in the Bill of Quantities and drawings.
• Ensuring all work complies with Occupational Health and Safety standards.
• Site clearance and maintaining cleanliness during the project.
• Coordination with hospital staff and site inspections as required.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Use of materials that meet SABS standards and are approved for hospital use.
• Replacement of shatterproof glass with specified dimensions and safety standards.
• Repair of aluminium handles and doors to meet original specifications.
• Compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, including PPE, scaffolding, and site safety protocols.
• Provision of all necessary tools, equipment, and materials for installation and repair.
• Proper documentation, including inspection reports, certificates, and compliance certificates.

Skills Requirements

The tenderer must demonstrate:

• Proven experience in installing and repairing aluminium doors and shatterproof glass in healthcare or similar environments.
