Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to replace and install the Caillard 08 Long Travel Panel and associated cable trays at Transnet Port Terminals, Richards Bay. The work aims to enhance electrical infrastructure reliability, safety, and compliance with relevant standards, ensuring minimal disruption to terminal operations.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Supply, installation, and commissioning of the Caillard 08 Long Travel Panel.
• Replacement and installation of cable trays as a once-off service within the terminal.
• Provision of all necessary equipment, materials, and skilled personnel to perform the work in accordance with specifications.
• Adherence to safety, environmental, and quality standards, including site access, safety protocols, and environmental regulations.
• Provision of guarantees and warranties for installed components, including defects in materials and workmanship.
• Completion within specified timelines, with a maximum of 9 days for the work, and prompt communication in case of delays.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements encompass:

• Use of specified equipment, including long travel motor panels and cable trays, compliant with standards such as SAN 1461 and relevant SANS standards.
• Installation of cable trays with specified dimensions and coverage (e.g., 20 meters, 140 meters, 4 meters), supported and labelled per standards.
• Compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations, including PPE, site safety plans, and environmental standards.
• Pre-installation testing at the service provider’s facilities, with submission of test results.
• Provision of detailed methodology for execution, demonstrating approach, safety, and quality management.
• Adherence to the project scope, specifications, and standards as outlined in the tender documents and NEC3 contract requirements.

Skills and Skills Requirements

The tenderer must demonstrate:

• Proven experience in electrical panel replacement and cable tray installation, supported by previous purchase orders or project references (minimum of 80 points for functionality).
• Registration and grading with CIDB (minimum Grade 3EP or higher) or recognized equivalent, with valid certification.
• Technical competence in handling electrical components, including compliance with safety standards and standards such as SAN 10142, ISO 9001, and relevant SANS standards.
• Qualified personnel, including engineers, electricians, and safety officers, with relevant qualifications and experience.
• Ability to develop and submit comprehensive methodology and work plans, demonstrating understanding of site conditions and safety protocols.
• Capability to provide guarantees, warranties, and post-installation technical support.
• Familiarity with environmental and safety legislation, including OHSA and environmental standards.
