Objectives

The primary objective of this quotation is to procure and install replacement main entrance doors for RK Khan Hospital under the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Health. Technical Requirements

• Construction & Materials: Doors must be manufactured from hardwood and fitted into the pre-existing frame structure. All materials must carry S.A.B.S. approval.
• Dimensions & Design: The overall door opening measures 2480mm (height) by 1870mm (width). The assembly comprises two leaves with rebated stiles and glazing beads, each featuring a 2080mm x 660mm shatter-proof full glass viewing panel.
• Hardware & Fixings: Installation requires a new door closer, hooked-cabin with eyes door stays, robust locking mechanisms, and handles. Doors must be secured using heavy-duty brass hinges and screws anchored to the existing frame.
• Quality & Safety: The installation must be durable, reliable, and compliant with occupational health and safety standards. Contractors assume full risk for material storage on-site.
• Site Verification: Physical measurement and inspection of the installation site are mandatory prior to quote submission to ensure precise fitment.

Skills and Contractor Requirements

• Active registration with the Construction Industry Development Board (C.I.D.B.) is mandatory.
• Bids are geographically restricted to contractors operating within the Durban metropolitan borough.
• Proven expertise in custom woodworking, structural door installation, and surface finishing is required.
• Financial and operational capacity to execute the two-week delivery window and honor the twelve-month performance guarantee.
• Full compliance with standard procurement declarations, including verified tax clearance status via the Central Suppliers Database (CSD) and SARS PIN validation.
