Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to engage an experienced service provider to perform quarterly cleaning, servicing, and repairing of the grease trap at the Durban ICC over a period of 12 months. The aim is to maintain the high international standards of the Durban ICC facilities by ensuring the proper infrastructure and operational efficiency of the grease trap system.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Pump out sludge and remove all waste from the grease trap, ensuring safe off-site disposal.
• Supply chemicals necessary for cleaning, servicing, and grime/sludge removal.
• High-pressure clean the entire system, including walls, pipes, baskets, hatch covers, and steel grids, using own equipment.
• Provide a comprehensive report and safe waste disposal certificate upon completion of waste removal.
• Inspect all equipment such as baskets, grids, pipes, etc., after cleaning and expose any repair needs, which must be submitted separately for approval before repair work begins.

Technical Requirements

The mandatory technical requirements include:

• Provision of two detailed references from clients with similar projects successfully completed.
• Employment of qualified staff, including at least one plumber with a minimum of 5 years plumbing experience, supported by a detailed CV and copies of qualifications.
• Proof of public liability insurance with a minimum coverage of R500,000.
• Compliance with all mandatory scope of work and safety standards.

Skills Requirements

The skills requirements specify that:

• The service provider must employ duly qualified personnel, including a plumber with at least five years of plumbing experience.
• The team must be capable of operating cleaning equipment, handling waste disposal, and conducting system inspections.
• Proven experience in similar cleaning, servicing, and repair projects is essential.
