Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint an experienced service provider to perform comprehensive servicing of extractor hoods and fire suppression systems at Durban ICC for a period of 12 months. The services include deep cleaning, disinfecting, servicing of extractor systems, and assessment and certification of fire suppression systems to ensure compliance with safety standards.

Scope

The scope of work encompasses:

• Deep cleaning, disinfecting, and servicing of extractor hoods and ducting in various kitchen areas.
• Servicing of extractor motors and replacement of filters.
• Sealing gaps with silicon around ceilings.
• Provision of service reports and certification post-service, including photographic evidence.
• Assessment, servicing, and certification of fire suppression systems, including fire detection and agent distribution networks.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications for the services include:

• Cleaning of filters and ducting, deep cleaning, and disinfecting of extractor hoods.
• Servicing of extractor motors and replacement of ceiling filters.
• Sealing all gaps with clear silicon around ceilings.
• Providing detailed service reports, certification, and photographic documentation before and after services.
• Assessment of fire detection systems, suppression agents, and distribution networks to ensure proper functioning.
• Issuance of certificates confirming compliance with safety standards.

Skills and Experience Requirements

The service provider must demonstrate:

• Experience in cleaning, disinfection, and servicing of commercial kitchen extraction systems.
• Compliance with SANS 1850:2014 standards for the design and manufacture of commercial kitchen extraction systems.
• Provision of at least two reference letters confirming successful completion of similar services.
• Ability to supply a list of cleaning chemicals with MSDS, approved by SABS.
• Compliance with health and safety regulations, including providing a safety file in accordance with OHS Act 85 of 1993.
• Registration on relevant databases such as CSD and EThekwini Vendor Portal.
